  • Shaun Wane speaks ahead of Wigan’s play-off semi final

  • Warriors boss says team are focused ahead of huge game

  • Wigan host Hull FC at the DW Stadium on Friday 30th September, 8pm kick-off

Shaun Wane says his team are focused only on tomorrow’s game as they look to book a return to Old Trafford.

Wigan host Hull at the DW Stadium knowing that a win will book them a fourth consecutive Grand Final appearance.

The Black and Whites will prove tough opponents and ran out narrow 16-12 winners when the sides met at the same stage in the Challenge Cup earlier this year.

“There’s no revenge on our mind, we just want to win this game, that’s all we’re focused on,” said Wane.

“I’ve a lot of respect for what Lee (Radford) has done, he’s a good coach and good guy with a very good team that’s full of quality players but this is sudden death, it’s a one off game and the best team will win on the night.

“Hull will bring a lot of fans, it’ll be a great atmosphere and the Wigan fans will really get behind the team too. We need to make the DW into a fortress and help get the win then we can all enjoy a trip to Old Trafford the week after.

“It’s big night, it’s the biggest game of the year for us and all of the players are looking forward to it.”

Wigan will end the season without Sean O’Loughlin and Sam Tomkins with the duo joining the casualty list earlier this week.

Wane says the team will just go about their business as normal.

“We’ll just have to get on with it, they’re two very good players but it’s not the first time this year we’ve been without them.

“We’ve dealt with having players out all year, we’ve been in the Challenge Cup semi final and now we’re in the Super League semi final and it’s a credit to the depth of our squad that we’ve been able to do that.

“There’s not many teams that could miss their first choice 1, 9 and 13 plus others, for long periods, and be able to manage that.

“It’s a big ask but we’re up for it, the players will be ready and it will be game on.

“We’ll be challenging Hull but we’ll need to be very good.”

Tickets for this game start from £22 for adults and £15 for concessions with pay on the gate available for the South, East and North (away) stands with tickets for the West Stand available from the DW Stadium Ticket Office.
