Members of the Green Warrior Energy Exchange Club had their first seminar this week at CWM FX Central Park delivered by Maloney Associates.
A vital part of the I’m a Green Warrior campaign, the Energy Exchange Club will deliver a series of seminars to schools and businesses to promote the development of a greener community in Wigan, and ultimately reduce the carbon footprint while saving money on energy costs.
Over 20 schools and businesses attended the seminar and received a high level of expertise from Keith Maloney (pictured), Director of UK leading energy and environmental consultants Maloney Associates.
The unique seminar gave an overview of the campaign and what the Warriors Foundation set out to achieve through the innovative project. Experts from Maloney Associates gave advice on energy purchasing, energy procurement and offered each member of the club a free energy review for their facility.
Guest speaker, Kevin Simmonds from Energy Ace spoke about voltage optimisation and the impact this can have on schools and businesses with large facilities.
Commenting on the success of the first seminar, Wigan Warriors Community Foundation project manager, Mike Wearden said:
"We’ve had some great feedback on the first seminar from everyone involved. Maloney’s demonstrated some really great ways in which schools and businesses can save money. Schools will now be able to save more money and as a result invest more in their students, while businesses will be able to increase profits through lowering their costs. In addition, we get the added benefit or caring for our environment in promoting this sustainable agenda."
