Smith - 2014 is a Massive Year

As Wigan prepare to see in 2014, everyone is looking forward to the start of the new season and then the World Club Challenge against the Roosters.

After a double winning 2013, Warriors Scrum Half Matty Smith told us he can't now wait for the campaign to kick off,

"2014 is a massive year for us. We have had a good 2013 but there is probably even more pressure on us to carry on and win more trophies and there is no bigger game than the Roosters in Sydney in February. We will be fully prepared for that, the Coaching Staff and Players are all working really hard in training and we wnat another successful year.

"The drive is once you have won the Challenge Cup and then the Grand Final is not a case of you've won it now you want it more and you become more hungry to win more. There is alot of drive in this team and there is alot of motivation. We have a young bunch of lads, I think I am now one of the oldest being 26, and we all want  to win. The players we have here are special and we want to be even more successful.

"We wnat to be top of the table, we want to win the League Leaders Shield and probaly last year we weren't consistent enough in some parts of the year and we want to put that right. We obviously wnat to win everything that is up for grabs."
