Wane On Salford Win

Wane On Salford Win

Wigan ran out 20-40 winners over the Salford City Reds on Friday night in an eight try display.

Head Coach Shaun Wane speaking afterwards at the post match press conference was pleased with the win as the Warriors got back on track, he said,

"It was a good performance, we have had a tough week with a couple of minor knocks and injuries, Lockers pulled out, Paddy pulled out, they are two major players for us, especially Lockers. I am happy with the two points, we scored some great tries again, there are a few things to work on but overall I am happy.

"Lockers had a problem with his knee but he will be OK, it was touch and go for him tonight and I wasn't happy to risk it. Pat was never going to play today but both should be Ok for next week.

"I was particularly pleased with the first half, I split games up into 20 minute spells, the last 20 of the first half was outstanding and we completed 100%. Throughout the game I thought we ran hard, Jeff Lima I thought had a cracking game and Harrison Hansen I thought was outstanding.

"Salford are a good team and they have scored quite a few points these last few weeks, I knew it wasn't going to be easy today and I thought we just dropped a bit of intensity in the last 20 minutes and towards the end of the game I was waiting for the final whistle to come which was a bit disappointing. I think we could have been a bit more ruthless but over the 80 minutes I was pleased with the points we scored and the two points we have got."
