This week three of the Warriors star players joined two classes of excited and active children in a P.E class as part of the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation School Stars Sponsorship Scheme.
Paul Deacon, Lee Mossop and Jeffery Lima visited Parklee Community School in Atherton, Wigan and joined class 5 and 6 in an hour of rugby based games and activities that were delivered by the Warriors Community Foundation Coach, Tommy Gallagher.
In addition to players visit to the school, the scheme also offers two tickets to each home game that the school can use to recognise and reward their pupils.
Mark Grogan, Parklee's Deputy Head said: "The school is delighted with the partnership that it has forged with the club and we are looking forward to developing an on going relationship with the Warriors Foundation."
"Today's visit has been an excellent reward for the children who have been working hard. The majority of them are Warriors fans so to have the players here is absolutely amazing."
During the course of the afternoon the players and Foundation staff also visited each classroom and discussed the benefits of reading. Paul, Lee and Jeff all brought along a book that they have recently read and discussed it with the pupils.
The players also presented the school with a signed playing shirt and a £25 donation from the Warriors Foundation.
Warriors Foundation Manager Mike Watson said: "The School Stars Sponsorship Scheme is a great package for schools to reward both their pupils and their staff. If your school would like to be part of the scheme in 2011/2012 or if you're interesting in sponsoring a school then the Warriors Foundation Team would love to hear from you."
