On a bright and crisp autumn morning the queue stretched far into the car park full of eager children waiting for the chance to sign in for another fun packed Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Rugby Camp.
Mike Watson, Foundation Manager said,
"The turnout today is great, it's always good to be fully booked and I can't wait to get started."
The group were divided into three sub groups depending on age; each group was named after their favourite warrior's players, Sean O'loughlin, Sam Tomkins and Stuart Fielden.
Dave Clark, Community Rugby Coach added,
"Seeing the children playing with a smile and having a good time is what this job is all about. Today is a good example of that."
The three groups rotated between activities laid on by the community coaches. The coaching activities concentrated on a variety of basic rugby skills such as ball handling, movement and tackling.
Ben, 8, said, "I'm really enjoying myself today and made a lot of cool friends here, I hope to see them again on the next camp."
Jack, 14, told us, "Team Fielden is the strongest, just like Stuart Fielden himself. On all the games we have worked together well and had a really good time!"
Each child who attended the camp received a free 2011 home season ticket.
Don't forget that 2011 season tickets are now available as well as the True Warrior challenge for your free season ticket. For more information on future rugby camps and tickets visit our website or call the Ticket Hotline on 0871 66 33 552.
