Warriors star Andy Coley was on hand to donate Rugby League equipment to Ince C of E Primary School in Wigan last week following his man of the match performance in the Carnegie Challenge Cup match against Wakefield.
The equipment, courtesy of Carnegie, will be used by the school to help develop their already thriving rugby league activities.
The pupils at the school were treated to a highlights video from the Warriors victory over the Wildcats in round 5 of the Challenge Cup, and a visit from the prestigious trophy itself. Pupils were told about the history of the trophy and the fact that Wigan have won the trophy 17 times, and heard how Coley became interested in rugby when he was at school.
Pictured with Andy Coley are pupils from the school who attend the Y5 and Y6 rugby practice sessions, lead by teacher and huge Warriors fan Steven Ashurst, who commented:
‘We are really grateful to Andy for choosing our school to receive the equipment and very thankful to Carnegie for providing us with it. We have many Warriors fans here at the school, and probably have a few more after today’s visit.’
