Wigan Warriors season came to an end following their 18-14 loss to Leeds Rhinos in the Final Eliminator at Headingley-Carnegie on Friday night.
The Warriors gave everything but it was the home side that ran out winners and head to Old Trafford.
Speaking afterwards head Coach Brian Noble said,
"I am extremely proud of the players, they deserve alot of credit. We managed to get ourselves into a run of form at the back end of the season but just couldn't quite replicate the form of the last few weeks tonight and that's credit to Leeds, we couldn't quite find enough ruck speed, they had good ruck speed. The challenge was there for all to see, we rolled our seeves up but we couldn't quite come up with the quality.
"In big games it's about execution. We created opportunities and probably dropped the ball at times when we didn't want to. Credit to the players for the brave effort they showed, they kept scrambling and finding a way to be in the game but we couldn't just get over the line.
"We talk about composure and execution but we have made massive strides as a Club over the last couple of years turning the aspirations of everyone around. When we get people back on deck like O'Loughlin and Prescott and when we started the season with a skinny squad we have done amazing things really."
