Last week saw the start of the Wigan Warriors half term camps for this academic year with a three day coaching extravaganza at Westhoughton Lions ARLFC.
The camp is a result of six weeks of hard work by the Wigan Warriors Community Team in the Westhoughton SSCO partnership. The camp attracted nearly 20 youngsters and incorporated various fun coaching activities which are designed to improve the individuals playing ability.
Furthermore the camp was visited by the Wigan Warriors first team in the shape of Liam Colbon who following a successful stint in the first team was on hand to offer some expert advice to the youngsters who attended. Liam who completed intense training with the Parachute Regiment to obtain his beret in the off season took part in various coaching sessions and passed on some valuable information to the kids on what it takes to be a professional player.
Each child that attended received a certificate, medal and a small Warriors gift to commemorate their experience which was presented to them by Wigan Warriors very own mascot “Mighty Max.”
