Withers On Season Start And Odsal Return

Head Coach Brian Noble, Prop Stuart Fielden and Back Michael Withers will all make their first return to the Grattan Stadium since joining Wigan on Saturday evening as the Warriors travel to Bradford Bulls for a 6pm kick off.

All three have happy and successful memories of their time at Bradford and although it will seem strange to be in the away dressing room this time, Michael Withers told us it's a game he is looking forward to,

"It's just a normal game to me this weekend but I will enjoy going back. We get paid to go out there and win for the team. Playing for Bradford is now history now I'm with Wigan now.

"I will always cherish those memories from the good times at Bradford for the rest of my life, hopefully we can get some good times here at Wigan so I can take some memories home from here too."

Asked about the Bulls start to 2007 which has seen them win against Warrington and Huddersfield,

"Bradford have made a good start with two wins and have made some good signings. They look strong, I have read the reports and they seem to be going alright, we have to take our performance up a notch to beat them at Odsal.

"The pitch is likely to be a bit muddy but we are going there pretty confident and hopefully we can come away with a win.

On the overall start to the season, Michael added,

"The first two games have been a bit indifferent, we haven't really performed to our potential yet but we have come away with one win and one loss. It would have been nice to win them both but if we get a win this week with all the results that have been happening we will be in a good position."
