The Wigan Warriors players are preparing themselves for a week in the sun early in the New Year, but it will be no holiday as Brian Noble takes the first team squad to Lanzarote for a gruelling week of pre-season training.
The players leave on the 4th January for Club La Santa in Lanzarote where Brian and the coaching staff will put all the first team squad through their paces.
Club La Santa hosts excellent training facilities including a fitness centre, athletics track, pool and bike hire, which the players will utilise during their seven day stay.
Speaking about the trip Head Coach Brian Noble said:
"It is important to get away around this time of year for a complete week where the players can be fully focused on training and preparing for the season ahead. I have been delighted with the attitude of all the squad, many have been back hard at it for a couple of months now and a week away provides an opportunity for a change of surroundings."
"Most clubs opt to escape the cold, wet climate for a week. It provides a great chance for the new boys to get to know the rest of the squad. We have quite a few new faces and time away like this is priceless."
"The week will be tough make no mistake. The facilities at Club La Santa are exceptional and the players can expect some hard sessions and some long days. The players never relish pre-season but being prepared correctly both mentally and physically is important to starting the year well."
