Behind the Sticks - Week 22

The Warriors travel to Warrington this afternoon for a fierce local derby against the Wolves. The Riversider previews the game and gives us his tips.

Warrington Wolves Vs Wigan Warriors

The Wigan revival arrives at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Can Wigan continue their terrific momentum?

Last weeks game against Salford wasn’t the best performance of the season but it was the result that was most important. Brtian Noble has this week pointed at an improved performance but Warriors fans will just be happy with the two points!

I thought both Danny Orr and Bryan Fletcher had strong games against the City Reds whilst both Godwin and Higham caused constant problems for Salford around the rucks.

Warrington have been in indifferent form of late but I feel they where unlucky last week away at Hull.

They also have a number of 'busted' players ready to make their return this week: Hilton, Bracek and Mark Gleeson are all in the squad but each of these players haven't played much 'footy' in recent weeks. On another warm afternoon fitness could determine the victors.

It’s only a few weeks since these sides clashed at the JJB. It was close until around the 60th minute mark when the Warriors broke clear.

I expect a very tough game this weekend at the Halliwell Jones and the crowd will make it an intimidating atmosphere. This game really could go either way but I just take the Warriors to continue their excellent revival.

Winning Margin: Wigan to beat Warrington Wolves by 6-10 points

1st Try Scorer: Danny Orr
