Millward Pleased with Portugal Trip

Wigan Warriors returned from their pre-season warm-weather training camp in Portugal on Thursday, and coach Ian Millward was delighted with the week.

Millward revealed that Bryan Fletcher and Gareth Hock did not join their peers in Portugal as they recovered at home from illness and injury, although Kris Radlinski did make the trip.

Millward said:

”It was fantastic, a complete success, we all got a lot out of it.

“The weather wasn’t brilliant, It rained a couple of days.

“But it was warm enough and the tracks were dry which meant that we could do plenty of ball work which was my main aim.

“There were no mishaps so it was a really worthwhile and interesting experience.”

The Warriors continue their season preperations this Thursday when they play their final warm-up match against Huddersfield Giants at the JJB Stadium. Kick off is at 7.45pm and ticket details can be found [here].
