Wigan Warriors can today confirm the appointment of Stuart Wilkinson as their new Assistant Coach.
Stuart joins the Warriors from Leeds Rhinos and will assist Head Coach Ian Millward as well as taking responsibility for the Senior Academy side.
Speaking about the appointment Stuart said,
" I am delighted to be joining Wigan Warriors, this is a fabulous opportunity for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Headingley and would like to thank everyone at the club.
"Joining Wigan provides me with a great chance to pursue my coaching career, working with Ian Millward and the first team is something I am very much looking forward to.I also have a chance to coach my own side in the Under 21's."
Stuart links up with Wigan after five years at Leeds, firstly as Player Performance Manager and more recently as an Assistant Coach and is regarded as one of the best young coaches in the game. Whilst at Leeds the Rhinos won the Grand Final in 2004, became World Club Champions in 2005 and reached two Challenge Cup Finals. Leeds were also Academy Championship winners on four separate occasions. Stuart has also coached at International level taking charge of Wales in the 2004 European Nations Tournament.

"We are pleased to have secured the services of Stuart and he will be a great addition to our coaching staff. He has a wonderful enthusiasm for the game and has done a great job in the past in developing some of this countries young stars in the England Academy."
