For the first time ever transfers will be available allowing you to make substitutions half way through the season, increasing your chances of taking the top prize. So that means if one of your selections get injured or is not performing to the form you imagined you can make changes midway through the season and get your campaign back on track.
Secondly there is also the introduction of mini leagues allowing you to compete against family, friends or work colleagues. So not only do you have a chance of winning the big prize - over £1/2 million last year - you can also win your own personal contest. The mini leagues allow you to view your own private leader board containing the scores and position of other entries in your mini league.
Keith Oliver, Marketing Director of the tote commented, "The totetentofollow has become one of the most exciting competitions over the past ten years but now we have introduced these customer friendly enhancements it will be even more enjoyable. With these new developments we would expect to beat last year's pool of £1,202,660."
The totetentofollow is similar to fantasy football for horse racing fans. Player's simply choose ten horses - from a list of 500 - based on which ones they think will score most points throughout the season.
Each entry costs £10 and players can enter as many times as they like. Substitutions are only available for telephone and internet entries. The transfer window is open between 8th Jan and 14th Jan and is limited to two substitutions per line. Each change costs £5.
Last year Lee and Myles McNulty won £556,000 for their £10 stake.
Top 10 scoring horses last year:
129 Kicking King, 115 Moscow Flyer, 111 Celestial Gold, 94 Inglis Drever, 86 Essex, 84 Harchibald, 82 Macs Joy, Rule Supreme, 81 Farmer Jack, 79 Hedgehunter
- Entry fee costs £10 per selection of 10 horses
- There are three ways that a horse picks up points:
- Winning a race. Points vary between 10 and 25 depending on value of race
- Bonus points will be awarded for winning major races. i.e the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup
- Bonus point will be awarded depending on the official tote win dividend odds. The bigger price the horse the bigger the bonus points.
