Wigan Left Licking Wounds

Wigan and St Helens were both licking their wounds after a gruelling engage Super League derby at the JJB Stadium.

The Warriors held on for a dramatic 22-20 victory in front of a Super League record crowd of 25,004 but some of the gloss was taken off the success by a new crop of injuries.

Loose forward Sean O’Loughlin will have X-rays to determine the extent of a knee injury, while coach Denis Betts will also check on the fitness of stand-off Kevin Brown (ankle), prop Danny Sculthorpe (rib) and hooker Wayne Godwin (blurred vision) before naming his squad for Monday’s trip to Hull.
