Warriors see off Rhinos
Match Report as Wigan Warriors beat Leeds Rhinks 23-14 at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Wigan Warriors made it two consecutive victories in six days after beating Leeds Rhinos 23-14 at Emerald Headingley Stadium.
After going into the break with a narrow 11-8 lead, Wigan fell behind in the second half, before tries from Oliver Partington and Tony Clubb gave the visitors the two points.
It was Leeds who got the first points of the evening, as the Warriors conceded a penalty close to their try line, which Liam Sutcliffe successfully kicking to put his side 2-0 ahead after 16 minutes.
Five minutes later, Wigan took the lead as Gildart made a quick footed run past the Rhinos defence to go over. Chris Hankinson converted the kick to make it 6-2 after 21 minutes.
Hankinson then added another two points to the Warriors score, as he successfully kicked a penalty from 30 metres out to make it 8-2 after 26 minutes.
It was same again not long after, as the Rhinos conceded another penalty Hankinson took advantage of and added another two points to his side’s tally.
With five minutes of the half remaining, Leeds got their first try of the game as Adam Cuthbertson found a gap in the defence to power over. Sutcliffe adds the extras to make it 8-10.
Sam Powell kicked a drop goal for the second game running, as he saw his team go into the break with a 11-8 lead.
The Rhinos stormed out into the second half their, as Trent Merrin scores his side’s second try, with Tui Lolohea adding the two.
Ten minutes later, Lam’s side responded, as Liam Farrell passed neatly to Partington who ran through a gap to score his first try for Wigan under the sticks in front of the travelling away fans. With Hankinson once again successfully converting, the Warriors led 17-14 after an hour of play.
On the sound of the final hooter, Clubb put the cherry on top as he ran 30 metres to go over in the corner to make the full time score 23-14.
