Andy Farrell opened the scoring for Wigan at Central Park before Martin Offiah raced clear for a second try after Martin Strett had reduced the points difference with two accurate goal kicks.

Despite Rochdale cutting the points difference to two when Pat Hilton powered over with Strett adding the extras, an excellent solo run from Radlinski saw Wigan lead 16-10 at the break.

Farrell and Strett successfully kicked two more points to their sides total at the start of the second half before Rochdale were reduced to 12-men when Brian McCarthy was shown red for a dangerous tackle on Henry Paul.

Wigan dominated the closing stages as Radlinski completed his hat-trick with Shaun Edwards also crossing as Farrell kicked an additional six points to seal a 34-12 Round 2 win.
