Wigan travel to rochdale hornets this sunday for the first challenge cup meeting between the sides for more than two decades.

Excitement is building ahead of the Third Round tie, with more than 2,000 tickets already snapped up and extra stands opened for home and away supporters at the Crown Oil Arena.

6,472 supporters witnessed a ruthless Ellery Hanley display the last time the teams met in the competition, with the former England and Great Britain international scoring six tries and assisting several others in a 72-4 win.

Frano Botica, Dean Bell, Denis Betts, Ian Lucas, Shaun Edwards and David Myers added their names to the scoresheet as future Wiganer Martin Hall crossed for Rochdale’s only points at Spotland.
