Walking Rugby powering Monday mornings

Our uplifting Walking Rugby sessions that bring energy, connection, and Monday morning positivity to Robin Park Arena.

Taking place every Monday between 10am-12pm, our Wigan Warriors Community Foundation led Walking Rugby sessions provide a fun and friendly way for individuals of all ages and abilities to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy the sport in a relaxed and non-contact setting.

Starting each week with a positive boost that sets the tone for days ahead, Walking Rugby provides a welcoming space to get active, share a laugh, and start the week feeling motivated and uplifted whether you’re new to rugby league or keen to stay involved in the sport you love.

Sessions run on the 3G pitch at Robin Park, offering a supportive environment where everyone can take part at their own pace. Your first session is free, with a £4 per session fee after – so come along, get moving, and kick off your week the positive way.

Wigan Warriors Community Foundion Mental Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer, Ruari Hennigan said: “Our Walking Rugby programme is the ideal way to start your week with positivity.

“We are proud to have created a special environment where individuals of all ages can play rugby league in a fun, friendly and relaxed way. We encourage the community to try out the programme as we aim to build on our numbers while increasing the positivity on a Monday morning.”
