Vacancy: Casual Coach
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are seeking to appoint enthusiastic sports coaches to join our growing and vibrant team.

This exciting new role will support the delivery of school sport and community sessions across Wigan and the surrounding areas.
The role aims to increase the presence of Wigan Warriors throughout all localities in the borough by primarily delivering our PE and School Sport+ Programme and Rugby Development Programme. Additional responsibilities will include supporting our holiday camp provision, offering opportunities for healthy recreation, sports participation, and educational engagement for harder-to-reach members of the community.
Across all areas of community work, our key objective is to create a culture that engages more people, involves them in more activity, and develops more supporters and spectators of Wigan Warriors.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support Foundation coaches with selected primary/secondary schools in delivering a range of sports, physical activity and mentoring related delivery.
- Deliver high quality Rugby league and multi-sport sessions to children and young people across Wigan Warriors Community Foundations partner schools.
- Work alongside Foundation coaches to deliver Holiday Activity and Food programmes in partnership with Wigan Council.
- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place.
Health and Safety:
- Fully endorse, demonstrate and carry out the company’s health and safety policy.
- Comply with all company policies and statutory regulations relating to health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place, and assist if required with the amending of risk assessments periodically.
- Have a full knowledge of procedures for evacuation with regard to fire.
- Identify and report maintenance requirements or hazards within the workplace and encourage any workforce to do the same to avoid injury.
Safeguarding:

- The employee must act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are in their care or attending the company’s premises. The employee must report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the Head of Safeguarding.
General:
- Cooperate fully with colleagues and be flexible when assisting them in response to business needs of the company.
