Scotland Wheelchair 6-58 Ireland Wheelchair
Toby Burton-Carter, Mel Griffith and Oran Spain all featured as Ireland took a commanding victory over Scotland in the second of two game between the two Nations on Saturday afternoon at Oriam Performance Centre, Edinburgh, as both nations began their IRL Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup 2026 preparations.
Toby Burton-Carter crossed for a double whilst Mel Griffith and Oran Spain both went over in the victory.
Ireland head coach, Phil Roberts, commented: “It was key for the growth of our domestic game that those players had an opportunity to play internationally and after some initial nerves, it was an accomplished performance. We got off to a scratchy start, but that was in part due to the improvement of the Scotland team. Once we calmed down and cut out some errors we were able to concentrate on the way we wanted to play and put some nice rugby together.”
