Scholarship squad confirmed for 2026
Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce and welcome our Scholarship squad for the 2026 season.
An official launch evening was held for the players on Monday 1 September to officially welcome the players and families to the Club. The evening provided an introduction to the Scholarship programme, staff players will be working with, and to inform parents of our Scholarship process.
The evening was opened by Head of Youth, Shane Eccles, who welcomed players and families. Eccles stressed the value, work, and platform Community Clubs and schools play in helping young players develop before further presentations from Scholarship staff discussing their roles and what players should expect as a Wigan Warriors Scholar.
Current First Team players Jack Farrimond, Kian McDermott and Harvey Makin shared their experiences of progressing through the Scholarship and Academy pathway before each player officially signed a Wigan Warriors Scholarship certification alongside First Team Head Coach Matt Peet.
