Matt Peet has previewed Friday night’s Betfred Super League round 15 clash against Wakefield Trinity at the diy kitchens stadium.

The Warriors travel to West Yorkshire on a 10 match winning run in the competition after Jack Farrimond scored in the final seconds to beat Huddersfield Giants at the FLAIR Stadium, Dewsbury, last time out.

Reflecting on the win, Peet said: “The main positive is the fact we got the job done in the end. You’ve got to find ways to win games and winning with the last play is one of them. It was a reminder of the spirit and never say die attitude we’ve got, and we’ll learn lessons on how not to get ourselves into that situation too often. I’m proud of the team, but we need to be learning from that.”

Looking ahead to Friday night’s clash against Wakefield, Peet said: “It will be a tough trip for a few reasons, but particularly because they are a good, well-coached team. Hopefully you’ll see some good rugby from both teams, and I’m just hoping we can find something like our best form which is what it’ll take.”

Peet added: “They are known for an exciting brand of rugby with skilful outside backs, but also a tough forward pack. Every game I’ve watched they’ve been right in it and there’s been periods where they’ve been sensational. We’ve got to be aware that period could come at some point, and we’ve got to weather that the best we can in the hope it won’t last too long.”

Providing an update on Bevan French and Luke Thompson, Peet said: “They’ll be in the 21. Bevan we’re hoping will play, but it’s early in the week yet. Luke has done a bit of contact in training today so hopefully he pulls through the rest of the week.”

Praising Liam Marshall following his Testimonial season announcement, Peet said: “Every Wigan supporter will feel Liam more than deserves it. It’s worthy recognition and a real celebration of his career. It’s a true Testimonial – one Club for 10 years – and Liam’s committed all of himself – and his family – to the Club.”
