Women’s Injury Update

Wigan Warriors can confirm that Emily Veivers suffered a fractured arm during Saturday’s Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup victory over St. Helens at Wembley Stadium.

Veivers was one of seven try scorers at Wembley Stadium, but was forced off the field with an arm injury in the victory. Following appointments with consultants, Veivers is to undergo surgery to screw and plate the fracture together. The forward is expected to be sidelined for up to 14 weeks.

On the injury, Head Coach Denis Betts said: “We’re really disappointed to lose Emily for a period with injury now, she’s been one of our standout players and has added real value to the squad.

“We wish her a smooth recovery and hope to see her back as soon as we can and hope that she can return with the form she has shown so far this season.”

Emily Veivers is sponsored by Revolucion De Cuba.
