Matt Peet gave his post-match assessment following Wigan’s Magic WKND victory over Warrington Wolves at St.James’ Park, brought to you by Greenmount Projects Ltd.
The Warriors extended their winning run to five matches as Jai Field, Bevan French, Abbas Miski and Adam Keighran crossed for tries in a narrow win in Newcastle.
Reflecting on the result, Peet said: “We’re pleased to get the points. I had a feeling it might be that kind of game, and both teams will go home relatively pleased. We got the result, but Warrington will be pleased with the performance. We just had enough in the end, and we’ll move on quickly.”
On withstanding a Warrington comeback, Peet said: “I had every faith in the lads, but nothing surprised me about that game. It was just an ebb-and-flow game.”
Speaking on performances, Peet said: “Jai [Field] is a quality player who likes the big stage. That’s the same with Harry [Smith] and Bevan [French]. There were threats on the other team as well but I was made up Jai had his moment. I thought Junior was solid.”
