Taylor Kerr sat down to discuss his loan spell at London Broncos, scoring four tries in the reserves season opener and the derby against St Helens at robin park arena.

The loose forward was one of five Academy players to be promoted to the first team environment ahead of the 2025 campaign. Kerr, who joined the Club in 2020 after progressing through the junior systems at Ince Rose Bridge, Orrell St James and Wigan St Judes, featured for the Warriors in pre-season friendlies against Oldham and Leeds Rhinos.

The 18-year-old spent time on loan at London Broncos last month where he made interchange appearances in victories over Featherstone Rovers and Dewsbury Rams. Kerr marked his Championship debut with a match-winning try to seal an important two points in the closing minutes at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Reflecting on his two-week loan, Kerr said: “It was a great experience which will certainly put me in good stead for the future. The physicality was the biggest difference to Reserves grade rugby and I played in two tough matches against Featherstone and Dewsbury. It was a challenge I enjoyed and to score the winner on my debut is a special moment I’ll never forget.”

Speaking on the transition, Kerr said: “It was my first time living alone which itself was something different, but that will help develop my maturity. Kian [McDermott] and Lucas [Mason] were down in London as well and they’d been there a week earlier so that made things easier. Although, all the lads down in London were excellent with the transition and that helped me settle in immediately on and off the pitch.”

Kerr made an emphatic start to the Reserves season last weekend as he scored four tries in a 36-4 victory over Huddersfield Giants at Laund Hill.

On his performance, Kerr said: “It was certainly unusual, and I don’t think I’ve scored that many since I was a kid, but I’m glad to have contributed to a strong start to the season. We’d drawn our first matches in the last two seasons so there was a big push on getting a win this time around. Even though we dominated most the match there’s still learnings that we’ve taken away.”
