Liam Farrell praised the effort in response as the warriors came from behind to record an emphatic win over huddersfield giants.

Despite trailing 18-10 at the break, the Warriors scored 34-unanswered second half points at The Brick Community Stadium to earn a third consecutive Betfred Super League victory.

Reflecting on the result, Farrell said: “It was a very good win in the end against a Huddersfield side who turned up and caused us a lot of problems. Our aim was to put a smile on our supporters faces – especially those who couldn’t get out to Vegas – and we were able to deliver that in a difficult game. It was an outstanding effort from the Club and the fans.”

Farrell crossed in either half for the Warriors to move level on tries with Henderson Gill (145) in the Club’s all time try scoring charts.

Speaking on his tries, Farrell said: “They were opportunists tries, but they all add to the tally. I’m happy with the tries but even more happy with the win as we’ve been able to score over 40 points again. We are disappointed to have conceded the two in the first half, but it was a pleasing win.”

Praising Harry Smith’s performance in the win, Farrell said: “Harry’s a very classy half-back. He controlled the game really well and his two 40/20’s turned the game massively in our favour. He produces big plays in big moments and having someone like him in your team is very handy.”

The Warriors celebrated International Women’s Day throughout the fixture, as players from our Women’s First Team, Academy and P2P Programme engaged with community activities at Robin Park Arena before parading The Brick Community Stadium pitch at half time.

On the importance of the celebrations, Farrell said: “It’s an area our game continues to grow. We want to keep growing the Women’s game and our celebrations were very special tying in with International Women’s Day.

The Warriors return to action at The Brick Community Stadium this Saturday (5:45pm K.O.) when facing Hull FC in the Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth Round.

Looking ahead to the clash, Farrell said: “The Challenge Cup holds a special place in our hearts with recent memories. It will be special if we can get as far in the competition this time around, and that’s something we are looking forward to. I’m sure we’ll have a tougher task on our hands against Hull FC this time around as they’d have been disappointed with the last match.”
