Warriors Women sign Shaniah Power

Wigan Warriors Women are pleased to announce the signing of forward Shaniah Power from NRLW side North Queensland Cowboys, our new signing is brought to you in association with Greenmount Projects Ltd.
27-year-old Shaniah Power comes to Wigan with a wealth of experience in her native Australia. Since 2020 she has featured for New Zealand Warriors, Gold Coast Titans, Sydney Roosters and joins Wigan from her hometown side North Queensland Cowboys.
The 2023 BMD Premiership Player of the Year, Power has represented the Maroons (Queensland) on four occasions and the Indigenous All Stars four times.
Power will add to Denis Betts’ forward pack for the 2025 Betfred Women’s Super League season.
Speaking on joining the Warriors, Power said: “I’m beyond excited to go on this journey with the Warriors and to make new lifelong friends.”
Head Coach Denis Betts said: “It’s fantastic news, not just for us but for the whole league to get a girl of her quality coming over here playing in this competition.
“We think she’s going to bring so much, not just as an individual but as a team player as well. She’s got great leadership skills, she’s already made an impression on the girls with her understanding and knowledge of the game.”
He added: “Being such a young side, some of the senior players within the squad such as Rachel Thompson, Vicky Molyneux, Mary Coleman – it adds that little bit of age and experience, so I think adding Shaniah to the mix will be a real bonus for us.”
