Warriors Women secure signing of Wilton and Veivers

Wigan Warriors Women are delighted to announce that Remi Wilton and Emily Veivers have signed for the Warriors for the 2025 season, our new signings are brought to you in association with Greenmount Projects Ltd.
Wilton arrives with experience in both codes as a former Australia A Rugby Union international and having previously played for and captained Canberra Raiders at home in Australia prior to Raiders joining NRLW.
She featured for BMD Premiership side Central Queensland Capras and representative outfit Monaro Colts in rugby league before joining Betfred Women’s Super League side York Valkyrie in April 2024, going on to win the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final last season.
Queenslander Veivers is a member of the PNG Orchids international squad, Second Row Emily Veivers joins Wigan from Norths Devils in the BMD Premiership.
Veivers debuted for Souths Logan Magpies in 2019 before joining Brisbane Tigers for 2021 and 2022. In 2024 she played for Norths Devils in the BMD Premiership making 8 appearances, alongside fellow Warrior Georgia Wilson.

Speaking on signing, Wilton said: “I can’t wait to play in the Wigan colours. After an exciting end to 2024 with York it’ll be great to build into the 2025 season with Wigan and hopefully have a similar outcome.
“The Club as a whole has been really welcoming so it’s been a super easy transition – this feels like where I’m meant to be.”
Veivers added: “I’m really looking forward to playing in the Betfred Women’s Super League over here in England and joining Wigan. The Club and environment here is amazing and I couldn’t be more happy!
“I think it’s a massive opportunity for me as a player and a role model for the younger generation coming through in Papua New Guinea & Australia, just showing that there’s a lot of opportunities out there in the World if you just stay determined you can do anything!”
Head Coach Denis Betts said: “It is great to welcome Remi and Emily to the Warriors, it shows the ambition of the Club to pursue players of this standard. We look forward to seeing both girls thrive in a Betfred Women’s Super League which is getting better each year.
