Winter Warrior Camp a huge success

Our annual Winter Warrior Camp came to an end on Friday with the two-day camp allowing young Warriors to blow off the Christmas cobwebs before returning to school.

The camp saw over 300 participants over the two days taking part in core skills and understanding of the game in fun and engaging activities led by our Community Foundation coaches, with older age groups focusing on development-based sessions.

Assistant Head of Community, Scott Rafferty said: “Our Winter Warrior Camp was a tremendous success, attracting over 150 players each day, ranging from all ages and abilities.

“We were thrilled to provide three diverse offers – Winter Warrior camp for 5-10 year olds, a more development based programme for 11-16 year olds, and a SEND offer, ensuring everyone could get involved and thrive.”

He added: “Thanks again to Wigan Council for their continued support giving us the ability to offer HAF places on our Winter Warrior Camp.”

Keep your eyes peeled for details of our February half-term camp which promises to be an exciting offer, and could be our biggest and best camp yet!
