Warriors Together 2024
Throughout pre-season the Warriors have been getting out in the Community as part of our annual ‘Warriors Together’ campaign.
The opening weeks of the programme saw players engage in fun-fuelled sessions with pupils from local primary and secondary schools as well as mulit-sport activities alongside an adults group from charity We Are With You at Robin Park Arena.
The positivity continued in week three as more than 900 supporters attended the Club’s annual Night Under The Lights at Robin Park Arena. The event, which saw essential hygiene items donated to The Brick Multibank Christmas Campaign, provided an opportunity for supporters to get involved in activities alongside players from our Men’s and Women’s teams.
As Christmas approaches, the Warriors helped spread the festive cheer to individuals at nearby hospitals, hospices and care homes in week four. Alongside representatives from Wigan Athletic, Warriors delivered presents to children’s wards whilst a group attended a celebration at the Club’s ‘Rugby Memories’ community programme.
Praising this year’s Warriors Together delivery, Wigan Warriors Head of Community, Danny Fullerton said: “Each year our Warriors Together programme evolves whilst creating a meaningful impact by strengthening the bond between the Club and the local community.
“Our commitment is to support and inspire our community, and this year our players engaged with individuals of all ages and abilities. Visits from our Men’s and Women’s players not only brings joy and encouragement, but it highlights the powerful connection between our teams and our town.”
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Schools Education Manager, Scott Rafferty added: “We’re proud to have provided positive experiences to a whole range of community groups through the Warriors Together programme. We’re grateful for the support from our players and it’s been great to give back to the community that support us week in, week out.”
