Warriors line-up Oldham Friendly

A select Wigan Warriors team will travel to face Oldham in a pre-season friendly ahead of the new 2025 Betfred Super League Season.

The game will take place on Sunday 19th January at Boundary Park against Sean Long’s newly promoted 2024 League One Champions, who will begin their pre-season a week earlier against Rochdale.

There could be some familiar faces in the Oldham side that could feature new signings Josh Drinkwater, Adam Milner, Matty Ashurst, Gil Dudson and Iain Thornley. 

Ahead of the tie, Head Coach Matt Peet said: ”We’re looking forward to playing our first pre-season game at a club where there is great optimism at the moment.

“It’ll be a great opportunity for us to take a team there for a good test and continue our preparations for the upcoming season.”
