2025 Wheelchair Fixtures Announced
The Betfred Wheelchair Super League fixtures have today been announced, with wigan Warriors to start the season at home to Sheffield Eagles.
The Betfred Wheelchair Super League competition has been expanded to seven teams for 2025 following the addition of Sheffield Eagles and Edinburgh Giants.
The Warriors host newcomers Sheffield Eagles in the opening round on the weekend of 21/22 June before consecutive away matches against the Giants and current champions, Leeds Rhinos.
Wigan take on Hull FC and Halifax Panthers at home in Round 4 and 5 before travelling to London Roosters for the final match of the regular campaign with a bye scheduled in Round 7.
The expansion of the Betfred Wheelchair Super League has come in response to the surge in interest in the sport following England’s home triumph in the 2022 World Cup. Applications were invited at the end of last season, and after a lengthy and robust audit process, Sheffield and Edinburgh were successful.
Warrington Wolves have been confirmed to join the Betfred Wheelchair Super League ahead of the 2026 season, allowing them an extra year to prepare for a return to the elite level. The Wolves will compete in a revamped and expanded Championship structure in 2025, with six-team leagues in both the East and West, and another eight new teams starting their journey in the Wheelchair game through development activity.
