Jack Farrimond has praised the importance of community engagement as pre-season starts at robin park arena.
As the latest group of Warriors began preparations for the new season earlier this week, the half-back has reflected on the opening days: “It’s been tough, as it should be. We started hard with the Yo-Yo test and in between we’ve had plenty of gym and strength and conditioning sessions. It’s nice to be back around the lads who are in, and we’re all ready to rip in.”
Players visited selected local primary schools on Tuesday afternoon as part of the Club’s Community Foundation led Warriors Together programme.
“It’s enjoyable visiting schools in the community and joining in with the small-sided skill games,” Farrimond said during his time at Millbrook Primary School. “It’s great to see all the children smiling throughout the sessions, and it’s something we enjoy experiencing as players.”
Farrimond added: “Warriors Together is important as it allows players to have a positive impact across the area with a range of individuals. To get out in the community and give something back to those people is massive to us.”
Farrimond experienced a memorable first senior season at the Club in 2024, which saw the teenager mark his Betfred Super League debut with two tries in a win against London Broncos at The Brick Community Stadium.
“Winning all four trophies was fantastic but personally I haven’t looked back on the season too much,” Farrimond said. “I’m just focused on working as hard as I can and listening to all the coaches so that I’m ready for any opportunities next season presents.”
Reflecting on his personal highlight from last season, Farrimond said: “It has to be the Magic Weekend try against St Helens. The stage was massive and I remember thinking if I scored I’d keep the celebration cool. As soon as it happened I looked up and seen all the fans celebrating, the only thing I could do was boot the ball into row z.”
