England secure 2-0 Series victory
Five Warriors were involved as England saw off Samoa 34-16 to secure a 2-0 Test Series victory.
Harry Smith got the first points on the board in the game as he slotted over a penalty goal for a 2-0 lead. Samoa regained the lead as Shawn Blore grabbed the opening try, which was converted by Pauga to swing the advantage back in their favour at 6-2.
Liam Marshall responded with a try on debut, weaving his way to the try line, with fellow Warrior Smith converting the score to put England back ahead at 8-6.
With Pauga sent to the sin bin for a high tackle on Bateman, England ran in two further tries with the man advantage as Warrington pair George Williams and Matty Ashton extended the lead to 16-6. A converted score from Herbie Farnworth allowed an England lead of 22-6 at the break.
From the restart Samoa responded to get the affair back in the balance, Jake Tago grounding a loose ball, with Pauga converting for 22-12 but Farnworth hit back with his second, collect a pass from Smith before getting a step inside to dance through the defence, England hitting 28-12 in the contest.
Farnworth then turned provider as he broke the line to send Jack Welsby over for another England score, Smith improved the score from the tee as it stood 34-12.
Samoa had the final say as Jeremiah Nanai scored but it was to be too late for the Samoan’s who were handed defeat, seeing England secure a 2-0 Test victory.
