Ethan Havard has reflected on a ‘special experience’ as England prepare to take on samoa in the final test match this saturday.

The Warriors prop forward started alongside Harry Smith as England recorded a 34-18 victory over Samoa in the series opener at The Brick Community Stadium.

Havard completed 31 tackles whilst on the pitch, and on representing England in Wigan, he said: “My main emotion was excitement as I just wanted to get out and make sure I enjoyed every second. It was a special experience representing England in front of a Wigan crowd who were great as always.”

Five Warriors – Havard, Smith, Junior Nsemba, Liam Marshall and Luke Thompson – have been included in England’s 19-player squad for the second Test at Leeds’ AMT Headingley Stadium.

Looking ahead to the clash, Havard said: “We made a positive start in Wigan but there are still a few areas we need to fix up on. We’ve worked hard in training this week to improve, and everyone is looking forward to getting out there once again.”

On the camp, Havard added: “It’s a great environment to work in as the standards and quality of the players within the group is so high. It means a lot to play for England and that feeling is enhanced as everyone is after the same thing. Hopefully we can get the win this weekend to seal the series.”
