Warriors host inclusivity festival at Robin Park Arena
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation hosted an inclusivity festival last weekend involving our ldsl and pdrl teams.
The festival opened with our Learning Disability Super League teams in action against newly formed community side Ince Rose Bridge as well as Halifax Panthers.
Even though Learning Disability Rugby League matches are non-competitive, the games provided enjoyment for participants who once again strengthened their skills and confidence.
Following the Learning Disability fixtures, our PDRL side came out 28-24 winners in a thrilling contest against Warrington Wolves which saw Danny Alker and Aarron Vose each score twice.
Speaking on the festival, Wigan Warriors Disability Inclusion Officer, Jack Corless said: “It was great to see so many players taking part during the off-season. We now have Ince Rose Bridge getting involved with their own team whilst other Clubs are showing great sportsmanship to strengthen the disability game.
“Not only are our PDRL matches becoming more competitive, but the bond between players is starting to grow which is fantastic for everyone involved.”
