France 74-8 Ukraine

Tiaki Chan came off the interchange bench as France produced a dominant display to defeat Ukraine at Carcassonne’s Stade Albert Domec.

Winger Nittim Pedrero crossed for a first half hat-trick to help build a 48-0 at the break, before six additional tries confirmed the win to set up a clash against Wales to decide who would represent Europe at next year’s inaugural World Series.

France 48-6 Wales

Chan started at prop forward and scored as France beat Wales in Perpignan to earn a place at the World Series which ultimately keeps their hopes of a 2026 Rugby League World Cup spot alive.

Arthur Romano, Cesar Rouge and Romain Franco established a 26-0 lead for the hosts before Rhys Williams scored Wales’ only try to reduce the points difference before the break.

France extended their lead early in the second half through Eloi Pelissier before Justin Sangaré, Theo Fages, a Lambert Belmas double, and a fantastic score from Chan completed the win.

England 34-18 Samoa

Ethan Havard and Harry Smith started for England as Shaun Wane’s side beat Samoa in the Test opener at The Brick Community Stadium.

England built a 16-6 lead at the break after tries from Herbie Farnworth, Matty Ashton and George Williams before Victor Radley, Ashton and Mikey Lewis crossed in the second half to seal the win.

Smith successfully converted five of the six tries as Junior Nsemba, Liam Marshall and Luke Thompson were unused squad members.

England Wheelchair 66-33 France Wheelchair

Jack Heggie and Adam Rigby were unused squad members as England scored 11 tries to defeat France at a sold out Robin Park.

Rob Hawkins scored four first half tries as England led 36-18 at the break before Mason Billington scored twice on his debut to help his side retain the Fassolette-Kielty Trophy.
