RugBees sessions rise in numbers
Our exciting rugbees development programme is looking for new or existing players to boost increasing numbers.
Led by Warriors Women’s players Anna Davies and Rease Casey, alongside assistant coach Kirsty Crehan, RugBees is an exciting programme for girls offering a fun introduction to rugby league.
As numbers continue to increase, our coaching team focus on developing participants skills and confidence in a fun-fuelled environment – perfect to help new or existing players to thrive.
Our RugBees sessions, which are open to girls aged 7 to 11 for just £1, take place every Thursday evening between 5:15-6pm at Robin Park Leisure Centre.
As part of our Community Foundation’s international week celebrations, which saw more than 300 children attend our half-term camp, players on our latest RugBees session wished England luck in their upcoming Men’s and Women’s clashes against Samoa and Wales, plus the Wheelchair international with France at Robin Park.
On the success of the sessions, Warriors Rugby League Development Manager, John Whalley said: “Our Rugbees programme is fantastic for new or existing players to come down and experience rugby league in a fun and fast-growing environment.
“Our numbers have rapidly risen in recent months and we hope to see more new and existing players join our sessions in the future.”
Anna Davies added: “Whether you’re trying rugby league for the first time, or continuing to develop skills, we want girls to enjoy playing, making friendships and being inspired by players who have a passion for growing the game.”
