Harry Smith has shared his excitement ahead of England’s Test opener against Samoa at The Brick Community Stadium this sunday.

The Warriors halfback has been named in Shaun Wane’s 24-player squad for the two-match series alongside Wigan teammates Ethan Havard, Liam Marshall, Junior Nsemba and Luke Thompson.

England open the two-match series at The Brick Community Stadium, and looking ahead to the clash in front of a home Wigan crowd, Smith said: “It’s always an honour receiving the phone call that confirms your place in the squad and the possibility of playing in either of the two matches.”

Smith added: “It would be special to represent England here in Wigan where hopefully we can get a lot of fans down as we look to put on a show.”

Sharing his excitement in joining the rest of the squad in camp, Smith said: “I really enjoy working and playing alongside the best players in the country as that’s why we play the game. I’m really looking forward to getting into camp and building towards two important matches.”

On the task England face, Smith said: “Samoa are a big, athletic side with a lot of quality players so we’ll have to be at our best to get on the right side of the result. Both teams have outside backs who can throw the ball around which will hopefully create two exciting matches for supporters.”

Tickets for the Test opener at The Brick Community Stadium remain available to purchase online HERE alongside tickets for England’s wheelchair clash against France at Robin Park this Saturday.
