Kruise Leeming has shared his motivation ahead of saturday’s betfred super league grand final at old trafford.
The Warriors take on Grand Final debutants Hull KR in what will be a history-making clash at The Theatre of Dreams with Matt Peet’s side aiming to complete the quadruple.
Leeming spoke to the media at Old Trafford alongside Kaide Ellis and Bevan French earlier this week, and on the prospect of creating history, he said: “It would mean paying back all the people who have put so much time and effort into me. If we can lift that fourth trophy collectively then we can look at each other knowing the lows we’ve been through across the season has been worth it.”
On facing Hull KR, Leeming said: “They’re a great team who will hopefully bring the best out of us. I’m sure it will be a great game to watch as a neutral as two fantastic teams go at it.”
Leeming captained and scored for Leeds Rhinos in a 24-12 Grand Final defeat to St Helens at Old Trafford in 2022.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Leeming said: “This year will be different. I know the feeling of losing which is one of my drives ahead. Walking out the tunnel is the pinnacle of our sport and what we play for. The feeling I get is assurance that all the sacrifices I’ve made will all be worth it.”
Praising the togetherness at the Club, Leeming said: “Every aspect of Wigan as a Club and as a community feels so close which transfers to the dressing room. We go through everything together and share all our problems which is a powerful thing. I’m grateful to have such an extended family at Wigan Warriors.”
