Getting to know: George Hirst
Get to know our latest signing George Hirst who joins the warriors on a two-year deal from Oldham.

Hirst initially began his rugby league career training three age groups higher alongside his older brother before joining local side Dewsbury Moor aged nine.
Despite a two-year spell at Dewsbury Celtic as a teenager, the Batley-born forward played for Dewsbury Moor until open-age level before joining Almondbury Spartans in the Yorkshire Men’s League.
After impressing at the Spartans, the 6ft 4in forward signed for Oldham in 2023 where he marked his first start with his first professional try in a victory over Cornwall.
The 23-year-old established himself as a regular in Oldham’s promotion winning season under the guidance of former Super League player Sean Long – current head coach – as well as Jordan Turner and Joe Wardle.
Hirst, who identified representing England U19’s Community Lions against Scotland, Wales and Australia as his biggest rugby league achievement, joins the Warriors on a two-year deal having scored seven tries in 30 appearances at Oldham.
