Tom Forber insists the Warriors will keep a ‘week-by-week’ focus heading into the final two rounds of the regular season.

The Warriors returned to the top of the Betfred Super League table after Matt Peet’s side overturned a 20-8 deficit to defeat previous leaders Hull KR at The Brick Community Stadium.

Forber came off the interchange bench to play his part in the victory, and reflecting on the match, he said: “It was the biggest game I’ve ever been involved in since I joined the Club aged 14. I loved everything about it – the atmosphere, the speed of the game, everything was just really good.”

The hooker scored his first Super League try in Wigan’s Round 24 win over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan, and on his run in the side, Forber said: “I was fortunate enough to get over against Catalans which felt really good. Matt has given me a really simple focus to nail my defence and distribution so if I can keep working on that whilst improving and building, then I should be good.”

Looking ahead to Friday night’s clash against the Rhinos, Forber said: “It’s going to be another intense game. Leeds are going really well at the minute and they’ll be throwing everything at us as they’re desperate for a win. We have to expect the best of them on Friday night which means we will need to be at our best.”

On the League Leaders being on the line, Forber said: “We must keep our week-by-week mentality – we’re focused on facing Leeds this week just like we will focus on Salford next week. Everyone’s been in high spirits this week and we’ve trained hard. We’re all looking forward to being back out there in front of our home supporters on Friday night.”
