Warriors announce 2025 Scholarship squad

On Friday 23rd August 2024 Wigan Warriors held their annual Scholarship Launch night as the newest players to enter the Warriors system were celebrated.
Head of Youth Shane Eccles opened the night speaking about the scholarship programme, what it involves and what the players and their families should expect over the next two years as scholarship players.
Speaking on the newest recruits in the pathway, Head of Youth Shane Eccles said: “We have welcomed 41 players into our Scholarship programme for 2025. We have 21 players that have progressed from Under 15s into the under 16s, alongside 20 players who have joined as under 15s.
“The players join from their Community clubs and schools and it is a credit to our recruitment team who spend hours watching and assessing these players in Community games, School games and development sessions.”
He added: “These players represent 15 different Community clubs and 27 schools and it is a credit to the coaches and teachers in the Clubs and schools that are working with these players to develop them. The scholarship squad will start training in September in preparation for the 2025 programme and it was great to be able to welcome them to the Club. The support shown by everyone at the Club will ensure they feel valued when they join the club and all the staff are looking forward to working with these players and seeing them develop and progress.”
