On the season so far, she said: “I’ve loved every minute of it, we’ve really progressed as a team since the beginning of the season and every single person wants to get better every week.

“It’s a really fun but intense environment to be in, which makes it easy to have that want to develop.”

The winger has crossed for 12 tries in 15 appearances so far in the League and Cup competitions, including a try in each of the Warriors last three outings. On her form this season, she added: “There’s always things to improve on but I’m happy with the way I’m playing this year. Derbyshire recently lifted her first trophy with the Club as the Warriors were crowned Women’s Nines winners at Hull KR’s Sewell Group Craven Park. The 19-year-old crossed for two tries in the competition, including in the Semi-Final win over Cardiff Demons: “It was a really good day for us as a team as it’s the first bit of silverware we’ve won this year.

“I always love the Nines – it’s a good way to bring the clubs together and show off your skill away from the league season. We have a really young and quick side so we just used that to our advantage and were able to execute well on the day.”

Next up for the Warriors, it’s a trip to AMT Headingley Stadium on Friday night as we prepare to face Leeds Rhinos for the first in 2024 Betfred Women’s Super League action. Assessing the game, Derbyshire said: “We’re expecting a tough game. It’s always an 80-minute battle against Leeds, especially away from home. They’re a big pack with some pace and strength on their edges but we’ve prepared well for this game.

“Tomorrow is about completing, building pressure and executing at every opportunity.”

She added: “It’s a huge game and could be a huge two-points for us if we can come away with a win. We’ve got a few tough but exciting games coming up towards the end of the season, but we’re in fine form and have the willingness to play for each other week-in, week-out.

“We’re looking forward to these last few games and trying to keep ourselves in a play off position!”
