Injury update
- Matt Peet has provided an injury update on Brad O’Neill ahead of our Betfred Super League Round 20 fixture, in partnership with Shock Doctor.
- Peet: “Brad had a scan last night which confirmed he’s done his ACL and he’s still got to have a follow up with a specialist.
- The Warriors head coach has also provided an update on Adam Keighran.
MATT PEET HAS PROVIDED A SHOCK DOCTOR INJURY UPDATE on brad o’neill as the warriors prepare to face huddersfield giants in rOUND 2o.
The hooker was forced off with a knee injury after 50 minutes in Wigan’s defeat to Warrington Wolves at The Brick Community Stadium last time out.
Providing an update on O’Neill, Peet said: “Brad had a scan last night which confirmed he’s done his ACL and he’s still got to have a follow up with a specialist. In terms of timeframe, whatever I say could be wrong but you’re looking upwards of nine months.
“Brad done his other ACL as a junior player so he kind of knew what it was and he knows how to rehab it. All our concerns are with Brad who seems to be handling himself really well. He’s been through this before and he’s determined to come stronger than ever.”
Peet added: “You know you’re going to get a spell of injuries which is why we have a squad with three hookers. It’s a good opportunity for Kruise [Leeming] and soon Tom Forber will come into the mix. We’ve got to turn this into a positive now.”
Despite missing the defeat to Warrington due to head injury protocols, Adam Keighran has been included in the 21-player squad to take on the Giants.
On the centre, Peet said: “He’s all good. I’m proud of the way that was handled and I think Adam can take comfort from the way he was looked after. He’s had a scan and he’s got complete piece of mind now.”
