Wigan Warriors LDSL and PDRL teams will take part in exhibition matches on The Brick Community Stadium pitch as part of our Festival of Inclusivity.

The Club will host a Festival of Inclusivity ahead of the Warriors’ Betfred Super League Round 19 fixture against Warrington Wolves tomorrow night.

As part of the festival, our LDSL and PDRL sides will participate in round-robin exhibition matches on The Brick Community Stadium pitch prior to the top of the table clash alongside players from Warrington Wolves and Halifax Panthers disability teams.

Fans will be able to join in with the festival celebrations by showing their support from the stands as our LDSL side takes to the field first from 6:30pm before our PDRL team begin their matches around 6.45pm.

Speaking on the Festival of Inclusivity, Wigan Warriors Disability and Inclusion Manager, Jack Corless said: “This is a great opportunity for our LDSL and PDRL players to enjoy a magnificent experience playing at the Brick Community Stadium in addition to showcasing and promoting the game.”

In addition to our LDSL and PDRL matches, players from our Wheelchair Reserves side will face Warrington Wolves in a small-sided game at Robin Park Leisure Centre.

Supporters are encouraged to watch the action inside the sports hall from 6pm as the fast-paced and thrilling game of Wheelchair rugby is showcased.

Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) is a variant of the game developed to ensure people with a learning disability can access and enjoy playing rugby league. LDRL matches are generally non-competitive and completely inclusive, with the main emphasis on sharing the enjoyment of rugby league.

Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) is a full contact version of the game adapted for participants with a physical disability who want to access a running version of the sport.

Friday night’s Festival of Inclusivity will once again show that we are rugby league together.

Tickets are still available for the game which will be a thrilling top-of-the-table clash between this year’s Challenge Cup finalists. Purchase tickets from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office or online HERE.
