Matt Peet spoke to the press on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Wigan Warriors’ Betfred Super League Round 18 visit to Hull FC.

The Warriors take on Hull FC at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and looking ahead to the clash, Peet said: “This is always a challenging away fixture so we know we are in for a game. They’ve introduced some good young players and their games are becoming more competitive and closer. They will continue to build on that.”

Providing an update on the Warriors squad following a Derby win over St Helens last time out, Peet said: “We’re in good shape. The regular bumps and bruises you can expect from that sort of game don’t seem a concern so we’re good.”

On improvements, Peet said: “The challenge is looking to improve and lift our standards which is always the case. We speak a lot about what we do well that we can do more of as well as what we need to do to be better. It’s as simple as that.”

Tyler Dupree could make his 100th career appearence this weekend, and on the prop forward, Peet said: “He’s proved to be an excellent fit for Wigan both on and off the field. He’s got some real outstanding talents – his power, his speed – but he’s also keen to learn and improve. I can’t say enough positives about how he’s applied himself since he’s joined and he’s tasted a bit of success which is great.”

Speaking on the Robin Park Arena concerts, Peet said: “There’s a lot of positive energy around the town at the moment and these concerts have played a major part in that. Our usual working week has been taken away but it’s been good for us. Sometimes change is a great experience for all the players.”
