Report
A strong start from the Warriors was rewarded with the opening try when Joe McGann’s short pass allowed Hollins to advanced through a gap in the Bradford defensive line. Zak Bielecki made no mistake with his first kick to make the score 6-0.
Moments after a try-saving tackle from Harrison Oakes denied Bradford an immediate response, impressive defensive work from the Warriors forced the Bulls into conceding a drop out from which an attack on the last tackle saw Gleeson weave his way over from close range. Bielecki added the extras for a 12-0 lead.
Despite keeping the hosts out after conceding a drop out from the restart, the Warriors were unable to prevent Reuben Flynn from diving over for an unconverted try in the corner after play was switched from right to left.
Quick-fire tries from Davies and Marsden saw the Warriors lead 24-4 at the interval. First an attack down the right edge created space on the wing for Davies to accelerate clear before Marsden was in the right place to collect Bailey Jones’ offload to score.
The Warriors restarted with the same intent as quick-hands along the line saw Isaac Makaza release Davies for his second of the evening as Marsden successfully added the extras after taking over kicking duties with Bielecki off the pitch.
The points difference was widened further on 53 minutes when Evan Buckley’s inside pass created an opening for Marsden to score his second under the sticks before he added the extras for 36-4.
The Warriors added a seventh and final try after the hour when Buckley sprinted through the Bradford defence slide over. Despite Bielecki’s kick narrowly sailing wide, neither side were able to add further points as Wigan recorded a 40-4 win on the road.
